poppy copy | what are you hiding in your secret room?

It was a real life Narnia moment.

I stayed in an Airbnb last week that NO JOKE had a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf.

But you’d never know it was there unless you’re like me and scour all of the pictures in a property listing. (So you don’t miss anything like a secret fricking magical room.)

Several guestbook entries mentioned the secret room as their favourite part of their stay.

And many of those guests said that they never would have known it was there had their kids not discovered it.

A lot of people would have come and gone without ever knowing the magical secret room existed!!

They didn’t know to look for it, no one told them it was there, and, as a result, they probably never thought much about the Airbnb again.

Most of us have a magical secret room inside of us.

Something about who we are or how we do things that people become obsessed with once they find it.

But we don’t actually tell anyone about it because it’s just part of who we are.

Or it’s not a big deal.

Or we think it’s obvious.

Meanwhile, it’s the very thing that people would fall in love with you for if they knew about it.

I’m not sure the Airbnb host even realizes the secret room is such a big deal. They’re busy running a business.

After all the renovations to make it magical, and the mortgage, and the dealing with guests, it probably doesn’t feel that special to them anymore.

That’s just how it tends to go for entrepreneurs.

Your most memorable quality is probably the one you don’t really think about anymore, because you live with it every day.

That’s the part of my work that I love the most:

I get to find these little secret doors and help people rediscover the magical parts of themselves that the folks who need them have been dying to find.

Trust me. Once people see that part of you, they never forget it and they’ll keep coming back for more.

I’ve tried to write five different closing lines here but they all sound like innuendos so I’m just going to come out and say it.

If you need help finding your secret room, I can help. 🤩
